The British sailing ship Cutty Sark is on public display after a restoration worth 60 million euros. The Cutty Sark is a clipper, a fast sailing ship used for transoceanic trade, and was built in 1869. It is one of the last sailing ships that competed on the world's seas in the speed of delivery of teas, spices and other valuable goods - before they were replaced by steamships. And indeed - clipper is the name for a type of sailing ship that was developed at the beginning of the 19th century and was distinguished by its high speed. Although it had a relatively small cargo space, it was quite fast and could transport various exotic goods from faraway parts of the world in a relatively short time. Clippers, due to the large number of sails, presented a magnificent sight. Certain clippers became famous with the annual "Great Tea Race", a race of ships that transported tea from China to London. The first ship to arrive would get a very good price for the goods and a premium. The race between the ships "Cutty Sark" and "Thermopylae" was legendary
