This famous two-masted schooner was designed by renowned shipbuilder Jeremiah Burnham. FLYING FISH was launched in 1860 in Essex, Massachusetts. For more than 20 years this design dominated the schooner market class and was used by many other shipbuilders as a model for their new sailing vessels. The FLYING FISH was one of the fastest sailing ships and brought its cargo and catch of fish into the harbor in record time.
